Tuesday Evening 2* Ride 2*
Leader:
Jon Townsin
Start Time:
6:30 pm
Start Location:
OMH
Description:

Weekly 1.5 hour rides at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph). Not likely to be very hilly.

We're heading south initially to Letcombe Bassett and up Holborn Hill. The brief climb is rewarded with a swoop down into Childrey and the gentle ride down New Road to the junction with A 417.

Only a short stretch on a busier road 'til we get back to Goosey Lane and a return via Denchworth to Grove.

A distance of 26km, taking account of the two climbs, should see us safely back before sunset.
Report:
Despite a very gloomy forecast tonight's ride was greeted with evening sun and absolutely no rain - although still quite cold in the shade!

Tuesday evening regulars were joined by Tim who is training for his Isle of Wight odyssey. The half term traffic was lighter than usual, except for a mini convoy through the Letcombes!

No incidents to report and we arrived back to OMH just as the sun was setting.
Distance:
26.00 km (16.16 mi)

Description:
Off-road ride around local tracks, usually about 15 miles. Knobbly tyres and good lights required. We are keen to welcome new riders and have spare lights available to borrow if you let me know. Dark, cold and wet - we'll ride in any two. But please let me know if you are coming so I can tell you if I decide to cancel due to really bad weather.

Tuesday Evening 3* Ride 3*

Start Time:
6:30 pm
Start Location:

Description:

Weekly 1.5 - 2 hours at a riding pace of 20-24km/h (13-15mph). May be hilly.

Katherine Boyce Secondary Ride Leader

Heading out from Grove through the Letcombes and then down through Childrey to Stanford and Charney before returning through Denchworth to Grove. Nothing too adventurous this early in the season but, hopefully, it will be a warm and sunny evening this week.
The ride is 31.3km (19 miles). Please bring lights as we'll need them before the finish.
Report:
This week's ride was dry and reasonably warm - a welcome change after last week.
We kept together well to the top of Holborn Hill and were all looking forward to the good sweep down into Childrey. This, however, proved to be disappointing because of traffic lights in Childrey. We kept up a good pace to Stanford and then through Charney before returning to Grove via Denchworth.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the ride and were a good group to lead - thank you.
Thank you to Eddie for sweeping.
Distance:
30.00 km (18.64 mi)

Weekly 1.5 - 2 hours ride at a riding pace of 25-29km/h (16-18mph). May be hilly.

Opening ride of the season for the 4* group, so we'll kick off with the planned ride for last week. Fingers crossed for better climate this time!

Still limited light so we'll have a nice easy opener, flat both ends, one small climb, a few bumps in the middle and a chance to catch up with each other.

50km, 250m up, expect avg speed 17.5mph ish.
